Bidwell Lakefront Cabin

This 1940’s era classic lakefront cottage had an aura of rough-hewn summer camp living complete with low ceilings, dark plywood paneling, and only a few small windows. In desperate need of upgrading, the entire interior was demolished, the dropped ceilings removed, and the spaces opened up to the rafters. The 822 sf house on a 25’ wide lot with no possibility for expansion was made to accommodate a family with two children. Loft beds allowed the children to share a bedroom while retaining floor space. Cedar cabinetry seamlessly integrated kitchen cabinets, a refrigerator, and an eating island. A gas fireplace provided warmth, easing the spring and fall evening chills.
